Send anything you have which concerns Christmas. Fiction, creative nonfiction, real-life events and memoirs, poetry, etc. Stretch your imagination.
Please… no maniac murdering Santas, and only Krampus stories that follow the specific Christmas-saving vision of director Michael Dougherty. Nothing will be considered that mars or destroys beloved stories and legends about this most wonderful time of the year. In short, nothing perverse, and certainly nothing antichrist. That said, all genres of writing will be considered including Horror, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Quirk, Cross-Genre, etc. Ghost Stories are especially encouraged, but for this anthology they need to be set around or in some way related to Christmas (or the Twelve Days afterward).
Ideas? How afraid were the shepherds when they were confronted by supernatural beings and told of the Messiah’s birth? What other dispirited families has Krampus visited to encourage in his own horrifying way? What is that uncanny event that happens every year on the 6th Day of Christmas? How does that haunted house figure into the season? Tell us much more about Virginia O’Hanlon, fiction or no. Who is Santa Claus really? Retell the terrible story of the children who were taken from their mothers by Herod. You get the picture. The possibilities are endless.
