SOUVENIR magazine currently accepts pitches and submissions for the following sections: personal essays, longform criticism, reportage, and fiction. We also would welcome ideas and pitches for the 'Lagniappe' section, which can range from a literary-themed tarot reading to a cadavre exquis-inspired literary game that provides players with the means of creating their own art manifesto. Humor pieces are also welcome.
Poetry is currently by referral only.
What we're into: old books; young writers; personal essays about dating and sex that are honest about your own desires; Corsican narcotraffickers; learning new languages; French cults; poems with rhyme and meter; fiction with a plot and honest-to-God characters; dispatches from the frontlines (Ukraine, Gaza, Congo); escroqueries and arnaques; well-crafted dialogue; stories that take religious faith seriously; in-depth examinations of the rise of the far-right, especially in Europe; the French literary world; writing with style and a sense of humor; your guide to the best baguette in Paris (just kidding).
