45th Parallel Magazine

45th Parallel indulges in in-betweenness — the convergence of seemingly disparate content, forms, genres, and styles. What we’re seeking in fiction is just as varied. While we especially love flash fiction and prose under 2000 words, the fiction readers are a diverse group with diverse tastes and we don’t want to limit the possibilities of writing with labels. We’re as open to straight realism as we are to magical realism or experiments pairing genre tropes with literary aims. Ultimately, we want fiction that excites us and moves us and surprises us, in whatever form that takes.
