It’s getting close to Midwinter, the nights are long and dark, and Ghost Orchid Press, in collaboration with Love Letters to Poe, would like you to tell us a Christmas ghost story.
We’re looking for spooky flash fiction of up to 500 words that draws on the Victorian tradition of telling ghost stories at Christmas. Think Charles Dickens, M.R. James, and of course, Edgar Allan Poe. Your story doesn’t have to be set in the past, or mention Christmas specifically, but we’d like to see pieces that make us feel as though we’re sitting round a flickering fire, listening to a creepy tale on Christmas Eve. Poetry is also welcome, as long as it tells a full and complete story.
